If you haven't yet pre-ordered the Oculus Rift, you might be out of luck in terms of getting one on launch day.

The entire day-one stock of the virtual reality headset has sold out in just 14 minutes, according to VRFocus.

It's not all bad news, however, as Oculus VR founder Palmer Luckey assures that there's "no chance" all pre-order stock will sell out - so there will be more.

Pre-orders for the virtual reality headset opened earlier today (January 6), while the actual device will start shipping at the end of March.

Priced at a whopping £500 ($599 in the US), it comes with an Oculus Remote, cables, a sensor and an Xbox One Controller, as well as two games - EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky's Tale.
