The Pitt spoilers ahead.

After months of anticipation, the second season of The Pitt concluded in the UK this week. Alongside the finale's release, series star Noah Wyle made an "important" plea to UK fans.

The acclaimed medical drama aired the 15th episode of its second season to UK viewers on HBO Max on Friday (3 July), several months after it premiered in the US.

Ahead of the finale's UK release, Wyle collaborated with NHS Organ Donation to encourage viewers to consider becoming an organ donor. In the video, which was shared on the foundation's Instagram account, the actor spoke candidly.

"Across the UK, someone dies every day waiting for an organ transplant. Would you accept an organ, if you needed one?" said Wyle, who plays Dr Michael Robinavitch, better known as Dr Robby, on the show.

"Two minutes now can save up to nine lives," he added. "Your choice has never been more important. Confirm your decision on the NHS organ donor register. It's the best thing you'll do today.

The caption to the post read: "If Dr Robby says confirming your decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register is the best thing you'll do today, it must be true."

"Thank you to @therealnoahwyle, AKA Dr Robby in @hbomaxuk The Pitt, for sharing this crucial message, highlighting the importance of organ donation," the caption continued, with the foundation also noting that The Pitt had already had an impact on organ donation in the US.

The message was praised by commenters, with one writing: "Just one of the valuable messages from The Pitt - great series, fantastic writing, awesome acting. Organ donation ought to be a case of having to opt out rather than having to opt in."

"Thank you for doing this. As a living donor of a kidney to my son I know only too well how short supply there is of organs," wrote another follower, while a third wrote that they loved "everything about" the message.

While The Pitt has now concluded its second season, we already know that the series will return, with a third season due to premiere in the US in January. Unfortunately, UK viewers will probably have to wait a little while longer (again).

The Pitt is available to stream on HBO Max.
