Wild Cards, the perfectly rated police procedural described as a "damn good time", has landed a new streaming home in the UK.
The Canadian series, created by Michael Konyves, follows down-on-his-luck detective Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) and seasoned con artist Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan) as they work together to attain their respective shots at redemption.
After premiering in the US and Canada in January 2024, the series returned for a second season earlier this year, with UK audiences finally able to watch the series after the first season was released weekly on Paramount+ from last month.
In a further update, it has been confirmed that the streaming service – in partnership with 5 – has acquired the rights for the second season as well, meaning UK viewers will soon be up-to-date with the series.
"Wild Cards has built up a growing global audience as a blue-sky procedural anchored by characters that people love to spend time with," said Jennifer Ebell, executive VP of television distribution at Fifth Season (via World Screen).

"The repeat series order is testament to its global appeal as a title. It’s great to be working with our longstanding partners at 5/Paramount+ in the UK and look forward to this being another cornerstone of their offering to viewers."
While it is unknown when the second season will be available on the respective streaming services, Paramount+ releases a new instalment every Tuesday, with five of the 10 episodes from the first season currently available.
The future for Wild Cards looks bright too, with the series being renewed for a third and fourth season by CBC Television last month (via TV Line). The third season will reportedly begin filming in Vancouver in August, with a release date likely to be January 2026.

The various developments will surely delight fans and critics, with the first season currently boasting a perfect approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from 9 reviews. The second season doesn't have a score, though all four verified reviews have been designated as positive.
Paste Magazine lauded the series as a "damn good time" as they praised the "crackling chemistry" between the central pair, with Collider echoing these sentiments as they said the performances of Gianniotti and Morgan were "by far the strongest part of the show".
Wild Cards streams on Paramount+ and 5.
