Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is due to leave Netflix soon.

The NBC procedural drama, which has aired 26 seasons since 1999, follows the dedicated detectives of New York City's elite Special Victims Unit as they investigate sexually based crimes.

Seasons six to 11 are currently available to stream on Netflix, but this will soon change as the show is due to leave the streaming service on April 14 – so fans will have to act quickly if they want to watch it there.

SVU has accumulated a dedicated fan base since its inception back in 1999, with viewers describing it as "very underrated", "excellent"and the "best" show in the Law & Order franchise (IMDb).

Meloni played Elliot Stabler on the show from 1999 to 2011, before reprising the role for spin-off series Organized Crime in 2021.

The pair were spotted strolling down the street together as they took a selfie, which Hargitay shared to Instagram with the caption: "Just leaving this here".

Fans were quick to share their excitement in the post's comments section, with one writing: "Benson and Stabler back in action! Love to see this and thank you for sharing. My favorite duo."

"Best duo forever," wrote another, while a third added: "I've stared at this for about an hour !!!!"

Other fans looked for clues that Meloni could cross over into SVU again after he returned as a guest star during season 25.

However, the show recently returned to screens with its new season and Stabler is yet to make an appearance.

Law & Order airs on Thursdays at 8pm ET on NBC, followed by Law & Order: Special Victims Unit at 9pm and Law & Order: Organized Crime at 10pm. The shows air on Sky Witness in the UK, with select episodes available on NOW.
