Anna Maxwell Martin has joined the cast of For All Mankind's upcoming spin-off series, Star City.

Star City, which was announced last year, will return to the beginning of For All Mankind’s alternative timeline, in which the Soviets are the first to reach the moon.

The synopsis continues: "But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward."

In other news, it was confirmed in October that Martin and David Mitchell's BBC murder mystery Ludwig is returning for a second season, with the pair both set to return to their respective roles as Lucy Betts-Taylor and John 'Ludwig' Taylor.

"I’m delighted that John 'Ludwig' Taylor has failed to escape the clutches of the Cambridge police and will have to continue to face up to the city’s alarming conundrum-based crime wave," Mitchell said of the renewal.

Following its debut in September, Ludwig became the BBC's biggest scripted show since 2022 and the largest launch for a comedy in six years after drawing in 9.5 million viewers over 28 days.

For All Mankind season 1-4 are available to stream on Apple TV+.
