With season 3B of Shadowhunters kicking off on Monday (February 25), series star Harry Shum Jr has teased what we can expect from his character in the final episodes of the show.
Shum Jr plays Magnus Bane, an immortal warlock who is centuries old, and at the end of the first half of the season, Magnus's Greater Demon father Asmodeus made his first appearance – and in the upcoming episodes, Magnus will start to feel the emotional strain.
Speaking to ET Live, Shum Jr said: "This character is hundreds of years old. He has magic, but underneath that is a human being struggling to wear that mask that he sometimes has to put on."

Speaking about the arrival of Magnus's father, Shum Jr added: "It's definitely going to unearth a lot of past things that he has been putting away.
"And that is what happens when a father comes and says, 'Hey, I want a relationship with you', after hundreds of years. It's going to take a toll on his emotions and also his mental health.

"Along with that, he's going to give him this, kind of, ultimatum which we're going to see in the final episodes."
Shadowhunters' final episodes are sure to be a bittersweet time for its loyal fanbase, but the series will at least go out with a special two-part finale to (hopefully) bring the saga to a satisfying close.
And, not to get your hopes up, but Shum Jr's co-star Luke Baines revealed that he would be "on board" for a revival – so who knows what the future holds.
Shadowhunters returns to Freeform on February 25 and is available on Netflix in the UK.
