With the grand final looming, Love Island viewers have backed Ellie to win after Finley's shock Hideaway decision. Friday's (10 July) episode saw new bombshell Elicia take Finley and Aidan away for a secret game of 'Truth or Dare' - but it had repercussions for both of the boys' partners, Ellie and Priya.

While Priya managed to contain her concerns, Ellie struggled to filter her emotion and was left in tears, prompting Angelista to comfort her. Meanwhile, viewers have rallied behind her after the twist - with one demand.

Fans of the ITV dating series have long been fond of Ellie and Finley's connection, partly due to Ellie's rocky history in the Villa. Prior to her connection with Finley, Ellie tried to explore a romance with Aidan and Tommy, but both relationships were short-lived.

Since they partnered up, viewers have rooted for Finley and Ellie to win, with some even comparing them to Lola and Sean, who have been committed to one another from day one. But after Finley and Elicia's getaway, viewers have asked for Ellie to win the season alone.

Many fans demanded that the production team give Ellie the £50k cash prize, with one suggesting that she'd gone through enough hardship. Another handful went a step further by recommending Ellie couple up with Priya, who has also had a complicated journey.

Priya explored connections with several boys in the Villa, including Samraj and Lorenzo, but the romances quickly fizzled out. After Casa Amor, she decided to explore her romantic potential with Jordon, before finding out that Jasmine had urged him to give her a chance.

Since then, Priya has tried to give her connection with Aidan another chance - but Elicia's arrival has also caused a stir for the relationship.

While Ellie's concerns remain strong, a conversation with Elicia helped her make sense of Finley's train of thought, as the bombshell revealed that he refused to lock lips with her during their game of 'Truth or Dare'.

Later on, as the Islanders took part in a new challenge, 'Snog, Marry or Pie', Ellie wasted no time in making her mark as she decided to smooch Finley in front of the whole Villa, before 'marrying' Lorenzo and throwing a pie in Aidan's face.

Friday's episode is also expected to raise the stakes further as another public vote puts some Islanders at risk of being dumped, while existing couples are set to continue to face fresh tests, as the countdown to the Love Island final has begun.

Love Island continues Sunday (12 July) from 9pm on ITV2.
