Miriam Margolyes has revealed the scathing reason she turned down a chance to appear on The Celebrity Traitors, saying she was offered the job but 'couldn't think of anything she’d rather less do'.
Speaking at Cheltenham Festival, the Harry Potter star said she rejected the offer to appear on the celebrity edition of the hugely popular BBC show and that she had never seen it.
Asked whether she would ever appear on the beloved reality show, Margolyes said: "Well, I can tell you the answer to that. No."
She continued: "Because I was offered this job. No. Just recently and I can’t think of anything I’d rather less do. No, I’m not into that. I’ve never watched it, I don’t intend to watch it."
The UK show is currently airing its first ever celebrity series, with big names such as Celia Imrie, Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, Tom Daley and Clare Balding taking part among others.

Currently working undercover as Traitors are Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Cat Burns, who were all chosen for the role by host Claudia Winkleman.
After being 'killed' by the Traitors, Daley opened up about his time on set in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy.
"You get to see the most important parts," Daley said of the editing process. "There's so many conversations that happen throughout the day that can't be included, as it's not like a Big Brother livestream, but there's not much you don't get to see."

On leaving Celebrity Traitors fairly early, Daley said he was "gutted" after becoming the second contestant to be murdered.
"Really, I just get FOMO. Obviously, you want to be able to see what happens and be there for it," he said. "But it was nice to be able to go back to my family a little bit earlier and not have to stay for the full three weeks.
"I wasn't expecting it. I thought I was going to get banished soon, as my name had been coming up, so it felt like it was a really random decision from the Traitors, but here we are."
The Celebrity Traitors airs Wednesday and Thursday nights at 9pm, and streams on BBC iPlayer. Companion show The Traitors Uncloaked follows straight afterwards on BBC Two.
