Strictly Come Dancing has announced the sixth celebrity that will appear in this year's upcoming series.

The beloved BBC dance show will be back on the box this autumn, with an exciting new line-up of stars ready to embrace the sequins and a Samba or two.

YouTube star George Clarke was unveiled on BBC Radio 1 as the latest contestant set to strap on their dancing shoes, best known to millions for his comedic videos on social media and the co-host of The Useless Hotline Podcast.

"Never thought I’d say this… but I’m doing Strictly! Honestly, I’ve got no idea what I’m doing but I’m excited to get stuck in... and potentially fall over a fair bit," he said of his upcoming gig.

Chatting to the presenters on BBC Radio 1’s Going Home Drivetime Show, George joked: "I was meant to be doing a marathon at the end of the month but can't now as I'm dancing."

"I found out two or three months ago, so there's been a lot of biting my tongue," he added. "I feel like it hasn't quite sunk in yet, it doesn't feel real."
