Love Island has unveiled a brand-new islander after a shock early cast exit.

Professional rugby player Conor will be swapping Limerick for the Love Island villa, officially joining the season 12 cast.

Conor replaces former islander Kyle Ashman who quit the series this week ahead of the official launch show. ITV confirmed his exit in a statement, telling Digital Spy: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned."

Ahead of his show entrance, 25-year-old Conor revealed that he's looking for "a dominant woman" in a potential love match.

"Someone who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic," he said, adding: "I like someone to be independent and do their own thing and then we come together and do our thing."

As for any hidden talents, the sportsman shared that he's confident in his vocal ability: "My go to is Mario's 'Let Me Love You'. I’ve sang in front of a lot of people before. If it’s your first rugby match you have to get on the bus and sing - they loved it!"

Fans don't have long to wait for the new series of Love Island to start, with season 12 kicking off on Monday (9 June).

Conor is one of 12 singletons looking for love in the sun, with other islanders including Tommy, a 22-year-old landscape gardener, and theatre performer come energy broker Megan.
