Love Island stars Gabby Allen and Casey O'Gorman have confirmed they have broken up, with the pair saying the decision was "mutual".

The duo, who appeared in the third and ninth seasons of the ITV reality show, coupled up during the second season of spin-off series Love Island: All Stars, eventually being season champions as they triumphed in the public vote.

Just under three months on from their victory, which saw them pip Grace Jackson and Luca Bish to the crown, Gabby and Casey have sadly confirmed that their relationship is now over, with the pair sharing a joint statement via MailOnline.

"After much thoughtful consideration, Gabby and Casey have decided to go their separate ways romantically," reads the statement. "This decision was mutual, and they both remain on good terms as friends with a shared respect for each other."

"Gabby is grateful for the memories they've created together and wishes Casey nothing but the best as they both move forward on their individual journeys," read an add-on statement from Gabby's representative. "She's excited for what the future holds."

The latest developments come after Gabby and Casey had previously outlined their future plans in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, with the pair sharing that they had begun arranging a holiday together.

"It's been crazy. I've never experienced anything like this, especially coming off twice before," said Casey in March. "This time has been completely different, firstly because I've come off with someone… We've met each other's friends [and] had a massive surprise party.

"I know we've just been on a holiday but it's very different when there's cameras on you all the time, so it would be nice to just have that quality time," said Gabby, with Casey adding that they would take a "two or three night" trip.

Gabby and Casey aren't the only couple from the second season of All Stars to announce their separation, with Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame confirming last month that they had decided to split up.

"We both gave it a shot and decided we're better off as friends," said Omar as he discussed their breakup. "We're still cool with each other. So please, everyone, don't overthink. So my answer to you... is yes [we have broken up]."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
