Love Island star Marcel Somerville has shared an update on his relationship with Olivia Hawkins.

The pair, who were coupled up in the All Stars villa, were recently dumped from the show, though Marcel has revealed that they are currently "really good friends" as he opened up about getting to know each other in the week after departing.

"You leave the villa together and people are expecting and hoping it's going to turn into something more but then you get back to reality," he told The Mirror, explaining they both have "a lot of stuff going on".

The star admitted there was "pressure to try and make something work", adding: "But we both said, 'Let's not put pressure on our situation. Let's just be friends.'

"Because we are really good friends, we've got a really good bond. We spent a lot of time in there, we still talk all the time. We just decided that it was best not to put pressure on our situation.

Marcel went on to share that they are "just seeing how things go" at the moment as he reiterated that he has "so much going on" in his personal life.

"For me, it's a situation of right person, wrong time," he added. "It's a situation of wanting focus on things I want to get sorted out first before I dive into another relationship and put more pressure onto life."

In other news, fellow islander Scott Thomas has hit back at a backlash over Elma Pazar following his recent decision to exit the show.
