The Traitors confirmed its finalists for the third season after host Claudia Winkleman explained a bold twist that had huge ramifications.

Wednesday’s episode saw the cast banish aTraitor Minah, with Charlotte recruiting Freddie to be a Traitor before they planned their next murder.

Charlotte, who knew Leanne possessed a shield from the previous challenge, successfully convinced Freddie to murder Leanne in an attempt to avoid suspicion, a plan that came to fruition in tonight's episode as Leanne revealed who she had told about the shield, implicating Freddie and Alexander as potential Traitors.

Rather than use the information to his advantage, Freddie implicated himself by fabricating a story in which he had known about the shield, a lapse in judgment that resulted in him being banished from the game at the roundtable.

This came after Winkleman announced a twist on the format, with one player being designated The Seer. The responsibility came with great power, with The Seer selecting one other player from the game and being able to learn their identity.

After a series of challenges, in which money was also being added to overall prize fund, Frankie - with the support of Alexander who had helped her along the way - was confirmed as The Seer, leaving her with a big choice.

After deliberating with Winkleman, Frankie opted to reveal the identity of Charlotte - the last remaining Traitor - as she set up an enthralling endgame, with her task being to convince the remaining finalists - Alexander, Leanne and Jake - that they are agonisingly close to the finish line.

The Traitors airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Two more series and a celebrity spin-off have already been confirmed.
