Tommy Fury has revealed the real reason behind his split from ex-fiancé Molly-Mae Hague.
The former Love Island stars announced their break-up publicly back in August last year, each sharing a statement on social media.
While fans have long speculated about the reason for the split, Tommy has now finally addressed the personal reasons behind it.

Speaking about the public reception to their relationship breakdown, Tommy confessed he’s struggled with the hurtful rumours he’s seen shared about him.
“With my breakup with Molly, there's been so much shit in the papers every single day for the past six months,” he told Men’s Health. “But if it's not come from my mouth or Molly's mouth, it's complete and utter bullshit.

“All I've been seeing for the past six months is ‘Cheater!’, ‘He slept with me!’, ‘He slept with this girl, he slept with that girl!’. Complete and utter bollocks.
“We broke up because I had a problem with alcohol and I couldn't be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn't. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink.”

The boxer revealed he’s “received so much hate” since his split from Molly-Mae was announced.
“My breakup was in front of the whole world,” he continued. “The most upsetting thing is that not once did anyone say, ‘Oh, he might be going through something a bit more serious. He might be in a bad spot.’ Not one person said that.”
Shutting down the cheating rumours, Tommy further explained his relationship with alcohol was the real reason behind the relationship breakdown.
“Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself,” he said. “It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing. You need to get a grip of it.
“If you're in the same spot as me, where you just think that it's going to cure all your problems, it doesn’t. You wake up even worse and you want to drink more to try and feel happy again. That's the cycle of it.”

Tommy went on to say his alcohol issues are now in the past and he’s looking forward to getting back in the boxing ring.
“I've got myself out of that now,” he confirmed. “As long as my family loves me. I just want to do my fights, earn my money, and look after my daughter.
“I'm going to get back in the ring real soon and I'm going to pick up where I left off. I'm ready to do that now. I've wasted a year already in my life and I'm ready to pick back up and have a great 2025.”
Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
