Love Island couple Grace and Reuben have become the latest to be dumped from the ITV2 show, following a public vote that named them least likely to work on the outside.

After the drama-filled garden game, which saw the couples ranking themselves to try and match the public's answers to relationship questions, a text alert came through to notify them of the shock exit news.

Grace and Reuben, who didn't fare too well when it came to audience votes, had already looked a little deflated. Grace had vowed to prove the public perceptions wrong, only to then find out that she and Reuben would be leaving the villa immediately.

Are Grace and Reuben from Love Island still together now?

Scenes of Reuben and Grace saying their goodbyes to their fellow Islanders have yet to air, but we do know that their time on the show has come to a dramatic end.

The pair were one of the newest couples of those that remain in the villa, with each of them recently being 'stolen' by a new bombshell. But Reuben and Grace made their way back to each other, and had been getting much closer in recent days.

But, having just narrowly missed out on a place in the final, what's happened with Grace and Reuben since filming ended for them?

"She was very guarded at first, which I understood because of her couples before, but I knew I could get the best out of her, because we had a lot in common. It was just a matter of breaking down her walls – I was taking them down brick by brick," he explained.

"She was always giving me little things back. I'm a big character, I'm like marmite – either you love it or I'm a bit too much for you – Grace was sticking around, so I knew she liked it.

"I had faith in my feelings to her and our connection... It has been a slow burner, but we've gone from strength to strength. She has so many qualities of what I look for in a woman."

Grace explained that she felt "good" about leaving. She described Love Island as an "incredible experience", adding: "I'm leaving with what I came in for with Reuben and to make it to the final week with all of the other Islanders is amazing."

When asked about what was next for her and Reuben on the outside, Grace said: "We are going to take every day as it comes, but I'm going to go down to Surrey and he's also planning to visit me in Manchester.

"I can't wait for us to have date night and meet the rest of each other's families. We are in a really good place and love being around each other so I'm excited to see where things go for us."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
