The lineup for Taskmaster season 22 has been announced, and what a lineup it is. A new group of comedians will be put to the test by Greg Davies and Alex Horne to achieve the title of Taskmaster Champion, and there's a few very familiar faces.

Joining the show will be British comedy legends such as Matt Lucas (Little Britain), Isy Suttie (Peep Show), Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd), Chloe Petts (Have I Got News For You), and Nina Conti (Sunlight).

In March, series creator and co-host Horne revealed that the filming for the 22nd season was almost complete, even teasing a potential Oscar winner in a future season. However, there has been no official confirmation on when we could expect the newest season.

This latest series isn't the only one with an impressive lineup, with the current season 21 cast including Eternals' Kumail Nanjiani, Gavin & Stacey's Joanna Page, The Masked Singer's Joel Dommett, Last One Laughing UK's Amy Gledhill, and The Thick of It's Armando Iannucci.

In true Taskmaster fashion, the series has been a hilarious chaos, with one episode seeing Page's "soul-destroying" incident involving a gymnastics trick.

In episode 2, titled Leg Up, Johnny!, the actor quizzed Alex on whether he could do a handstand, to which he asked: "No, can you?"

Confident in her ability and Alex's offering to learn, Page attempted to perform a handstand, but before doing so, she added: "I don't even know if I can genuinely do a handstand now. I'm 48 and I've had four children."

However, the attempt ended with her almost face-planting the floor, as she exclaimed: "It's not possible!" leaving the cast and audience in fits of laughter.

Prior to the show's airing, Page told Alex Jones and Clara Amfo on The One Show that she was fairly confident in her ability, saying: "Well, I've always done gymnastics, I've always done dance and I say, 'Yeah, I'm going to do a handstand,' and they say, 'Are you sure? Are you alright?' And I say, 'Of course I'm alright, I can do a handstand'.

"Boom straight into it. I realise I have no upper body strength anymore and I just went boom straight into the ground.

"It was quite soul-destroying, but I had to deal with it, move on. It was Taskmaster, you have to deal with the situation, and you just get on with it."

Taskmaster is available to watch on Channel 4.
