Keeping Faith, the crime thriller series starring Eve Myles that aired on BBC One in 2018, has randomly found its way onto 5's streaming service. And it's doing pretty well there, currently sitting in second place in the Top 10 Today chart.

The show follows Myles' character Faith Howells, who begins an investigation after her husband mysteriously vanishes, and works with an ex-criminal to try and find information.

But as she delves deeper into the mystery, people start to suspect her of murder. Can she uncover the truth and clear her name?

Keeping Faith had a very interesting journey to screen, as it was actually filmed back-to-back with its own Welsh-language version, Un Bore Mercher, which featured the same cast.

The Welsh version premiered first, airing on S4C in 2017, before the English version was first shown on BBC One Wales in early 2018. It then aired on BBC One around the rest of the United Kingdom later that year.

What to Read Next

Now it's ended up on 5's streaming, the latest in a long line of BBC shows to pop up on other services, with things like Red Dwarf on Channel 4, Blackadder on ITVX, Detectorists on Disney+, and the 2020 Dracula series on Netflix, to name a few.

And as people have already been doing, it's a show worth checking out.

Keeping Faith has a perfect 100% positive score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, although only seasons 1 and 2 have enough reviews to be scored (with 14 and 7 reviews, respectively).

The Sunday Times wrote that Broadchurch and Torchwood star Eve Myles is "excellent" in the lead role, a sentiment echoed by The Observer, which stated that the actor "gives [the show] its life force".

Fan response is more mixed, with season 1 and 3 both having a 62% positive score from Rotten Tomatoes users (season 2 does not have enough user ratings to be scored).

Keeping Faith is available to stream on iPlayer and 5.
