Extraordinary, the sitcom with two perfect seasons, has landed a new streaming home in the UK. Originally released on Disney+ in 2023, the show stars Máiréad Tyers as a shop worker named Jen.

As the only person yet to receive a superpower in a world where everyone over the age of 18 is granted one, Jen embarks on a journey to unlock her power and become superhuman once and for all.

Joining Tyers on the cast are Sofia Oxenham, Bilal Hasna and Luke Rollason as well as Derry Girls star Siobhan McSweeney, Motherland's Robbie Gee, and Sherwood star Safia Oakley-Green.

Penned by Emma Moran, seasons 1 and 2 are now available to stream on ITVX, meaning fans in the UK can catch all 16 episodes for free with ads.

Both seasons ofExtraordinary boast a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, with Espinof writing: "Extraordinary is extraordinary."

"Extraordinary’s own superpower is that it makes the comic book conceit pertinent to the individual characters – their emotional travails connect to the powers on offer, sometimes hilariously and sometimes with genuine melancholy," penned The Age.

"It helps that Moran’s comic sensibility is dirty-mouthed and dirty-minded in a completely disarming, sometimes painfully funny way," said The New York Times.

Cultured Vultures said the show "offers a sweet and funny enough look at being in your 20s", though "can’t quite compete in terms of depth and intelligence with other titles that attempt the same thing".

IndieWire wrote: "As a whole, this first season does leave room for exploration and improvement. But as a start, it's more than enough to prove that Extraordinary has some special abilities to keep it going."

Meanwhile, TIME Magazine suggested the show "combines and tweaks familiar tropes into something genuinely unique" and "makes Deadpool look about as audacious as The Incredibles".

Extraordinary is streaming on ITVX.
