Nobody Wants This is back for a second season, and given its positive reviews, fans will no doubt be desperate to know if more is on the way. The latest batch of episodes only dropped on Netflix this week, but will one of the buzziest romantic comedy series of the last few years return for a season three?

While there has not been any official indication from the streamer just yet on whether it has been greenlit to continue, star Kristen Bell has provided a very encouraging update.

Speaking in a new interview, the actor – who plays Joanne – said plans are very much afoot behind the scenes.

"The writer's room is working right now," she told Parade. "You never know if you're gonna be able to shoot because that's way above our pay grade, and they decide what shows are gonna be shot.

"But the writer's room is writing it right now. That we know."

What to Read Next

Given the show's success, it would certainly be a huge surprise if Netflix decided to axe it now.

At the time of writing, season two has a score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus reading: "In its second outing, Nobody Wants This' sharp humor and warmly chaotic ensemble keep it an engaging and emotionally observant rom-com that still charms even as it stumbles."

Its new rating may represent a slight downturn on season one's 95%, but fans are still clamouring for more on social media.

One person wrote on X: "Please please let there be a season 3 and beyond... that was soo good."

"I need season 3 immediately," wrote another viewer, while somebody else said: "I can't wait for nobody wants this season 3. I love Joanne and Noah soooo much. I love their relationship so so much."

Alongside Bell, Adam Brody is back as her love interest Noah – and Brody's own real-life wife and Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is on the show now, too. Meester plays Abby, joining returning favourites Justine Lupe as Joanne's sister Morgan, Timothy Simons as Noah's brother Sasha, and Jackie Tohn as Sasha's wife Esther.

Seth Rogen, Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky and Kate Berlant have also made their debut on the show this season.

Nobody Wants This season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
