Lena Dunham's new London-set romance series is now available to stream on Netflix UK.

Too Much is the much-hyped new offering from the Girls creator, which dropped on the streaming service today (10 July) and sees a New York City girl relocate to the British capital in a quest to find a new life after a messy breakup.

Hacks star Megan Stalter plays protagonist Jess, who crosses paths with indie musician Felix (The White Lotus' Will Sharpe) and finds an instant romantic spark.

Leads aside, The Guardian praised the "astonishing cast of stars" in an early review, with Too Much also including performances from Richard E Grant, Naomi Watts, Andrew Scott, Rhea Perlman, Stephen Fry, Jennifer Saunders, Kit Harrington and Rita Wilson.

Former Girls star Andrew Rannells also stars in the show as the ex-husband of Jess' sister Nora played by Dunham herself.

What to Read Next

Too Much is loosely based on Dunham's real-life romance with her husband, co-creator and musician Luis Felber, who she met after her own transatlantic move to London.

While the show "presents itself as a romcom", The Guardian hails the 10-episode series as going beyond surface level tropes of the genre.

"Jess loves Love Actually and Notting Hill, and each of the episodes gets a romcom pun as its title – but in the end, it is an abrasive, complicated, grownup version of romance, rather than any picture-perfect illusion," they wrote.

In an interview with Variety ahead of its release, Dunham revealed she was hopeful for a second series but nothing has been confirmed as yet.

As a result, she tied up loose ends in the finale just in case: "We don’t always have control in the television industry of what our ending looks like."

Too Much is available to stream now on Netflix.
