A wild sci-fi romance drama dubbed "over-the-top" and "schlocky" has landed in full on ITVX.
Based on Melinda Metz's Roswell High book series, Roswell, New Mexico follows the story of Liz Ortecho (Jeanine Mason), the daughter of undocumented immigrants, who returns to her hometown of Roswell, New Mexico.
Once there, she discovers her teenage crush, Max Evans (Nathan Dean), is actually an alien who has hidden his abilities in order to live as a human.
She protects his secret as the two reconnect, with a romance blooming between the couple that is put at risk when a violent attack threatens to expose the presence of aliens on Earth.

LatinaMedia.Co said in their review: "Delivers politically while staying true to its escapist nature... Roswell is just fun, making the most out of its over-the-top sci-fi romance premise."
The Arts Desk added: "It's best enjoyed as schlocky escapism, souped up with a blast of extra-terrestrial weirdness whenever the narrative is in danger of dozing off. Watch the skies!"

Following the show's end, showrunner Chris Hollier spoke to EW about how the show would have continued if it hadn't been cancelled.
"This [finale] was intended to help launch us to a nice wrap-up of season five. More craziness would've followed," he said.
Expanding on what this craziness would have been, he said multiple time jumps would have played into a "legacy ending" for Roswell, New Mexico.
He continued: "What does it mean when you start to find the people that you want to be with? How do you actually go and generate your own happy ever after? I loved where we were going to take those characters. We were talking about setting the ending multiple years in the future. It would've been another wrap-up with where all of our couples were."
Roswell, New Mexico seasons one to four are available to stream now on ITVX.
