Harlan Coben's twisty thrillers have been dominating Netflix in recent years – and there are even more to come.
However, if you need even more of a Coben-esque fix at the moment, there are plenty of other edge-of-your-seat shows available to stream.
Here, Digital Spy has rounded up five that fans should definitely check out that are available across Netflix and BBC iPlayer.
Clickbait
Released back in 2021, Clickbait focuses on the dark site of social media as a man called Nick Brewer (Adrian Grenier) goes missing, before turning up in a video that declares he will die if it reaches 5 million views. The series takes in many twists and turns – including murder – though received mixed reviews from critics upon its initial release.
Sitting at a 59% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Them called the show "a riveting addition to the [murder mystery] canon", while some other critics felt that the series isn't as deep as it purports to be.
Available to watch on Netflix.
What to Read Next
Dublin Murders
Sarah Phelps's (The Sixth Commandment) series follows Irish police (Garda) detectives Rob Reilly (Killian Scott) and Cassie Maddox (Sarah Greene) as they investigate murder cases that link to the country's past and their own lives.
Dublin Murders had viewers hooked when it debuted in 2019, and was a hit with the critics too, with The Independent suggesting that "both the murderer(s) and the writers have an unusually inventive way of toying with the audience’s expectations by blindsiding you".
Available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
Inside Man
David Tennant stars in this twisty BBC series from Doctor Who's Steven Moffat, which follows a prisoner on death row in the US and a woman trapped in a cellar under an English vicarage as they unexpectedly cross paths.
As well as Tennant, the four-episode series features a stellar cast including Stanley Tucci, Lydia West and Dolly Wells, and received a largely positive reception from critics when it aired in 2022, sitting at a solid 67% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Available to watch on Netflix.
The Mess You Leave Behind
This Spanish Netflix series is based on a book by Carlos Montero, and focuses on literature teacher Raquel as she moves to her husband's birth town, only to discover a dark secret that she tries to get to the bottom of.
Debuting in 2020, The Mess You Leave Behind stars Inma Cuesta and Bárbara Lennie and comes from author Montero – who wrote many of its episodes – and was labelled "suspenseful" by Forbes, who further called it an "engaging, slow-paced, whodunnit mystery".
Available to stream on Netflix.
Red Rose
Like Clickbait, Red Rose is another thrilling series looking at the ills of social media, focusing on a group of friends in Bolton who plan to enjoy a final summer together before university. However, things take a horrific turn when an app called Red Rose is downloaded, which makes sinister demands and blackmails them with threats of drastic consequences.
Starring the likes of Amelia Clarkson, Isis Hainsworth and Samuel Anderson, Red Rose was compared to Derry Girls and Black Mirror – and was a hit with critics, landing a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Available to stream on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
