The BBC has confirmed the release date for the upcoming special episode of Doctor Who: Unleashed and has announced some familiar faces from the Whoniverse as special guests.
Hosted by Steffan Powell, the special will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Doctor Who’s 2005 revival.
The hour-long episode will be released on Saturday 7 June at 6am on BBC iPlayer, and air on BBC One Wales and BBC Three later that day.
The show promises to follow Powell as he "takes a trip through the time vortex with a host of cast and creatives who've played a part in bringing the show back into the Whoniverse".
Actors Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, who famously played the Eleventh Doctor’s beloved companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams, have now also been announced as part of the special.

This comes after past Doctor stars David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker were previously confirmed in the line-up.
Also set to feature in the Doctor Who: Unleashed special are former companion actors Billie Piper, Pearl Mackie, and Mandip Gill.
Current stars Ncuti Gatwa (Fifteenth Doctor) and Varada Sethu (companion Belinda Chandra) will also appear in the special.

The episode will also see appearances from stars from behind the camera, including former showrunners Steven Moffat and Chris Chibnall.
Current showrunner Russell T Davies, who was responsible for reviving the hit British sci-fi series back in 2005, will be taking part as well.
Elsewhere in the Whoniverse, Doctor Who’s current season is drawing to a close with the finale episode, 'The Reality War', set to air on Saturday 31 May.
Teasing ahead to the conclusion, Davies has promised fans some "unexpected turns".
"It's rewarding for long-term fans but exciting for new viewers as well," he told Doctor Who Magazine.
