Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa has named Gillian Anderson as his dream guest star.

The Fifteenth Doctor actor is about to be back on our screens with a new season of adventures in time and space, and ahead of its return, he spoke to Digital Spy.

When asked who he'd love to see join the show, he exclusively told us he wanted to reunite with his Sex Education co-star, and that he wants her to play a baddie.

"I think Gillian Anderson would make an incredible villain," he said. "Oh my god... would love, would love. Can you imagine?"

New companion actor Varada Sethu also told us that she would love the chance to reunite with her former co-stars from shows like Doctors, Doctor Foster and Andor on Doctor Who.

Earlier this week, Sethu revealed that she was called in to meet with Russell T Davies, and thought that she was going to audition for the role of Belinda Chandra.

"I was sat there and Russell was telling me the whole story arc for the season. And I just thought, 'This is top secret information! Top secret stuff to give [in] an audition,'" she said.

"And then it was like, 'Oh! I just clocked that this is an offer. This isn't an audition.'"

Doctor Who will return on April 12 on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
