ITV's beloved returning British crime drama Grace has confirmed a release date for season 5.
Fans of the detective drama won't have long to wait, with ITV announcing that the fifth season will return to screens on Sunday, April 6, at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX (via Radio Times).
Adapted from Peter James's Roy Grace novels, the upcoming series will include four feature-length episodes. The first episode of season 5 will be based on the 14th novel in the series, Dead If You Don't.
"The team is called to investigate when a body in a barrel washes up on a beach in Sussex, but Roy finds himself in a frantic race to save hundreds of lives in a Brighton football stadium after they receive an anonymous demand," the synopsis for episode 1 reads.

Starring John Simm as DS Roy Grace, the series follows Roy as he searches for his missing wife, Sandy. Season 4 ended with Roy finding Sandy, though she died of suicide not long after.
What to Read Next
Season 5 of the Brighton-set series is set to begin on a sombre note for Roy and his new partner Cleo Morey (Zoë Tapper), who has just lost her baby.
Speaking recently to Radio Times, Simm explained: "When we find Cleo and Roy, they are dealing with the loss of a child, which has obviously happened between the series. You realise quite quickly what's happened.

Tapper added: "You find out very early on that she's lost the baby, so that's the sort of first image you have of her and of them, is dealing with this really devastating loss.
"They were really poignant, moving scenes to film and interesting in another way, because I think for Cleo, her work is so integral to who she is as a person, and she's on bereavement leave at the beginning of this series, and Roy has had to go back to work, so they're separated in their grief as well."
Grace will return on ITV on Sunday, April 6, at 8pm.
