There's a brand new thriller called The Au Pair starting tonight on Channel 5, and it sounds every bit as intense and chaotic as the BBC's beloved show Doctor Foster.
According to the synopsis (via Radio Times), when Zoe Dalton's husband Chris suggests that they get an au pair to help with her elderly father and the step-children, she thinks it might ease the burden of juggling it all.
Enter Sandrine, who is capable and settles in quickly – although things suddenly start to shift in the family home in the Cotswolds.
According to the episode one description, Sandrine has "a secret agenda" – but who knows where that might lead...
The Au Pair has a packed-out and recognisable cast, led by Beyond Paradise and Green Wing star Sally Bretton who plays the character of Zoe Dalton. The role of her husband is taken on by Kenny Doughty (ITV's Vera), while the mysterious Sandrine is played by Ludmilla Makowski (from Netflix hit Lupin).
TV legend David Suchet, probably best known for playing Agatha Christie's detective Hercule Poirot, also has a role as Zoe's father.
