Unforgotten has returned for season six last night, leaving fans wanting more after a jaw-dropping finale.
The crime drama stars Sanjeev Bhaskar and Sinéad Keenan as DI Sunny Khan and DCI Jessie James who focus on cold cases of disappearance and murder.
The season six premiere saw Sunny and Jessie investigating human remains, which turned out to belong to a man named Gerard Cooper. Gerard had disappeared in 2011, and the officer in charge of the case back then was the disgraced Ram Sidhu.
The final scene featured a shot of Ram in his prison cell.

Taking to Instagram after the season premiere, Bhaskar posted a snap that's a nod to the episode, prompting viewers to comment on a twisty finale and the unexpected comeback.
"Just watched the first episode: I shouted loudly and clapped at that two-word reveal at the end. Can't wait to see what happens next!" one person wrote.
"I love it already, and I've only seen one episode. I'll probably binge on the series after tomorrow's episode, even though I'm eager to learn why a certain someone has returned," another viewer noted, adding to Bhaskar: "You're great, as always."

Those who're eager to find out more about this season won't have to wait long as Unforgotten airs its second episode tonight.
When filming on season six started back in March last year, creator and writer Chris Lang said the new chapter would tell "a story that has been gestating for nearly eight years, since the 23rd June 2016, when our country seemed to fracture in two".
He continued: "The UK, and indeed the world, has today never seemed more divided, and series six attempts to try and understand how we got to where we are now, and perhaps more importantly, where we can go from here."
Unforgotten season 6 airs on ITV1 and STV and is available to stream on ITVX and STV Player. Seasons 1-5 are available on the same platforms.
