Jed Mercurio's hit ITV thriller Trigger Point has shared an exciting update, with filming commencing on the third season.
The crime series follows a London bomb disposal unit led by Afghan War veteran Lana Washington (Vicky McClure).
It has now been confirmed that production has begun on the next set of episodes, which will follow Lana and the team as they investigate a bomb threat that reveals itself to be a "sinister vendetta".

"Someone is targeting individuals and demanding revenge," the synopsis adds. "Working alongside the Police Counterterrorism Unit, the Bomb Disposal Squad race against time to find the bomber before they claim their next victim."
Trigger Point's second season aired last year, and proved to be a record-breaker for the broadcaster after becoming ITV1's second most-watched drama last year behind Mr Bates vs The Post Office.

Alongside McClure, the new six-episode season will see the returns of stars Eric Shango, Nabil Elouahabi, Natalie Simpson and Maanuv Thiara alongside guest star Jason Flemyng, while Bloodlands' Chris Brandon will act as lead writer.

"Trigger Point is back!" McClure said of the return to filming. "We're all so excited to get going.
"Having had such a positive response to the previous two series, we want to make this new series even more exciting, keep everyone on the edge of their seats whilst getting to know even more about the brilliant characters in the show.
"Lana is such a complex character to play, it’s a joy for an actor to play a role with as many layers as Lana."
Trigger Point seasons 1-2 are streaming on ITVX, with season 3 yet to confirm a release date. You can buy series 1 now on DVD and Blu-ray.
