The presenter took to Instagram today (January 21) to share that she slipped last week outside her front door, admitting her broken arm is "the most painful thing [she's] ever experienced".

"So got a bit of news for you. I slipped on the ice last Friday, hit the deck and broke my arm," she said in the clip, which is captioned "BREAKING NEWS".

"If you're squeamish, stop listening to this, but basically I snapped the top half of my arm in two. Possibly the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life, simply from slipping on the ice."

The star then compared it to her upcoming stint on Netflix reality show Celebrity Bear Hunt, which sees her trying to navigate the Central American Jungle.

"I mean, literally you're about to see all the things I did on Bear Hunt, which were way more dramatic and scary than walking outside of my front door – and yet it was walking outside my front door that led to me snapping my arm in two," Steph said.

She further revealed that her sling will be on "for at least another five or six weeks", before praising the NHS care she received.

"But I was being really well looked after by the NHS. Spent a bit of time in A&E, as you do, and was really well looked after," the star said. "I can't fault them at all. But yeah, on the long road to recovery! And it's my right arm, and I'm right-handed."

In a follow-up Instagram Story showing her sling, Steph joked: "Meet Barry the brace and Susie the sling. New (very close) friends of mine."

She also praised her "fabulous" NHS surgeon in a follow-up post, adding: "Everything should be fine in a couple of months."
