Zara McDermott has shared another big work announcement for 2025.

Zara McDermott: Thailand will follow the former Love Island and Strictly contestant as she explores the popular holiday location in a new documentary series for BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.

Starting in Bangkok, Zara will then travel across the country to discover why it has become a favourite for hundreds of thousands of backpackers each year, as well as those who have decided to move there longer-term.

"There's clearly a fascination with the nightlife, parties and stunning beaches – but there seems to be other intriguing reasons people are going to Thailand and staying."

The series' executive Producer Naomi Templeton added: "We're thrilled to be working with Zara.

"She will offer a new perspective on the many reasons thousands of young Brits are drawn to explore Thailand every year."

Clare Sillery, head of commissioning for documentaries at the BBC, said: "We're delighted to work with Zara again on a new series exploring Thailand, a destination which holds a huge appeal for young travellers.

"Zara has an eye-level connection with the BBC Three audience and the stories that matter to them."

Another documentary from Zara, titled Zara McDermott: Stalked, will also be coming to the BBC soon.

The two-part series will explore the impact of stalking, speaking to victims and shining a light on how stalking cases are handled by law enforcement.

Zara said that she hopes the documentary will "witness the real impact of stalking on people's lives as they deal with the stress, fear and process of reporting these crimes to the police.

"I want to look at what can be done to support them and bring their stalkers to justice."

Following reports that Zara and her partner Sam Thompson have split up after five years together, former Made In Chelsea star Sam opened up about a "tough" situation recently.

"It was tough," he told Pete Wicks during an episode of their Staying Relevant podcast. "It's been a real tough month."

Speaking about being in a relationship while in the public eye – and the presence of paparazzi outside his home after the split reports – he continued: "I don't know if they have the right [to know], but I understand why people think they do have the right to know what's going on because you live your life in the public eye.

"You gotta be respectful of other parties."

Zara McDermott: Thailand comes to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in 2025. All previous Zara McDermott documentaries are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
