The first reviews have landed for Katie Price's new documentary Nothing to Hide. The four-part Sky series follows the star's time in the spotlight, including her modelling years, personal relationships and scandals, and includes unseen footage and testimony from those closest to her.

Ahead of its release today, critics have had their say on the docuseries, with The Guardian calling it "as fascinating and exhausting as its subject".

"The first part of Katie Price: Nothing to Hide (the only episode available to preview, alas) is a sensitive and rigorous account of the former glamour model’s first 23 or so years," critic Sarah Dempster wrote.

"As she does so often, Katie has surprised me," added Metro's Alana Anderson. "Not least by retelling the most turbulent years of her life so sincerely, but by finally adding some context and honesty to her weird and wild antics. As a woman, I found it heartbreaking to watch her unravel."

The critic further wrote that "seeing Katie’s striking vulnerability and accountability has been a long time coming".

However, in a three-star review, The Independent's Nick Hilton argued that "while Price is charismatic and her story full of shock value and cautionary tales", the series "feels like a parochial entertainment, replicating some of the leering quality of Noughties tabloid journalism, rather than the social history it might’ve been".

Grazia's Otegha Uwagba further suggested it was "entertaining", though posited that it is "impossible to escape the sense that what has been billed as a ‘candid and unfiltered account’ of its subject’s fame is ultimately just an exercise in reputation management".

Meanwhile, Louis Theroux – whose production company Mindhouse is behind the doc – previously said he was "very proud to be launching" Nothing to Hide, sharing in a post: "Congrats to all involved. And a big thank you to KP herself for her participation and her support of the project."

Katie Price: Nothing to Hide will be released on Sky and NOW today.
