"We’ve got Oscar winner Jim Broadbent," he said. "That was a real thrill. Imelda Staunton has been in the show. Phil Davis."

Smith jumped in to recall one of her favourite on-set moments while filming with Broadbent. "I got to dance with Jim Broadbent," she said.

"What a dream. I was literally beaming the whole day. Don’t look at our feet, just look up."

Other notable cast members for season four include Blue Light's Siân Brooke, who returns to play Nikki's sister Karen, with Phil Davis back as Jason's dad Vic.

The first two series of Trying focused on Nikki and Jason's quest to become adoptive parents, with season three seeing the arrival of their children Princess and Tyler. Season four sees the story jump forward six years, with the couple tackling parenting with teenagers.
