Trying spoilers follow.

Nikki and Jason's mission to make a family in Trying has been melting hearts of Apple TV+ viewers for three seasons now, and it looks like there's no sign of slowing down.

Now they've finally got everything they've dreamed of, what's to come for the newly-married pair and their dedicated band of loved ones there to cheer them the entire way?

Thankfully, we've got some good news about that.

Here's everything you need to know about what lies ahead...

Yes! On September 1, just hours before the finale of season three dropped, Apple confirmed that Trying had been renewed for a fourth season.

What to Read Next

The team announced the news simply by posting a renewal tweet confirming Nikki and Jason's story will be continuing.

Now it's just a waiting game about when the show will be back on our screens.

Typically, if we assume writing or pre-production hasn't started yet, it's likely it'll take around a year for the show to be finished up.

So we'd estimate a July 2023 release date, similar to the timeframe of the previous three seasons (seasons one and two dropped in May 2020 and 2021 respectively, with season three being released in July).

We'll let you know as soon as we know anything more definitive!

Trying season 4 cast: Who will be returning to the show?

Trying just wouldn't be the same without Esther Smith and Rafe Spall back as Nikki and Jason.

Now their family has expanded too, with Princess (Eden Togwell) and Tyler (Mickey McAnulty) officially part of their brood.

Phil Davis and Paula Wilcox as Jason's parents Victor and Sandra will likely return giving them a guiding hand where they can.

Other potential returnees include Oliver Chris (as their best mate and now landlord, Freddy), Sian Brooke (as Nikki's sister Karen) and Darren Boyd (as Karen's husband Scott).

Trying season 4 plot: What's going to happen?

At the end of season three, Nikki and Jason had potentially the most epic day ever – pulling off a last-minute wedding with their family and friends before they headed to the courthouse to discover their fate as Princess and Tyler's legal guardians.

Despite initial hesitance from their biological grandmother, who feared losing them, she eventually realised that the kids would be loved in their new home, and allowed them to stay with the newlyweds.

Now, it's a case of everything being brand new for the pair, who have to now navigate schools (and the school mums and dads), and life as actual parents.

With their can-do attitude, we have no doubt they'll be able to do it, but will there be some twists along the way?

One of the many things they'll have to figure out is childcare, and what it would be like to live off just one of their wages should Jason become the stay-at-home dad he wanted to be in season three.

(And with the cost-of-living crisis being an all-too-real threat, will that come into effect with the family and their Camden home?)

Naturally, life is going to throw some curveballs, but we're being serious when we say this family need to be protected at all costs, as we love them so much.

No official synopsis has been given as of yet, but we don't doubt all of these will be factors going forward.

Trying season 4 trailer: Any new footage?

Sorry guys, the show's only just been renewed, and just like the couple's adoption process, this thing takes about nine months to a year to be made.

But we'll be keeping you updated every step of the way.

Just keep checking in here for updates!
