With Leo's assurance that he'll hold up his end of their deal, Nicolette fires Sebastian from Harold's. Initially, Sebastian isn't too fussed about losing his job, but it quickly becomes apparent to him that Leo might be pulling some strings.
In conversation with Krista and Leo, Leo suggests Sebastian focuses on his next steps, possibly a return to university in Sydney. Krista agrees but Sebastian isn't convinced and when he catches Nicolette in a furtive conversation with Leo, his suspicions of foul play are piqued even further.
Leo, however, finds himself thrown when he's reminded that the anniversary of David's death is fast approaching. Forced to face repressed grief, Leo and Nicolette wonder what advice David would offer them now, were he still here.

Meanwhile, when Gino talks up Eirini Rising to Sadie and Holly, Sadie has a light bulb moment, arranging for Gino to pamper Vera, who's thrilled at the opportunity to have her hair done by a hairstyling legend.
Gino works wonders on Vera's hair and in the process, talks up the virtues of life at Eirini Rising, including all the gossip, scandal and eligible men. The two get along like a house on fire and Sadie's plan to get Vera interested in moving to Eirini seems to be working.
But when Byron overdoes the upsell, Vera cottons on and refuses to consider it, leaving Sadie fuming at Byron.
Elsewhere, Andrew prepares for Dex and JJ's return, stocking their fridge and cupboards and making sure they'll be ready when school starts back tomorrow. Although Andrew is certain he's hearing noises, Sadie convinces him he's imagining it. But a mystery intruder is revealed to be making himself at home in the Varga-Murphy house, while staying hidden from Andrew.
Finally, when Andrew hears yet another noise and sees a cupboard door open, he's certain he's not alone. He begins to search the house, as the uninvited guest lies in wait.
Also today, the first anniversary of David's passing is approaching and discussions over how to mark the occasion leave Aaron melancholic. He covers his growing unease in front of Rhett, but reveals it to Jane, admitting that he's not sure if he's ready to move on as being sad makes him feel close to David and he doesn't want to let that go.
Concerned, Jane advises him to think carefully before making any decision. But when Aaron meets with Rhett, he's resolved – he's not ready for another relationship so he and Rhett are over.
