Ahead of Neighbours' 35th anniversary in March 2020, the stars of the Australian soap have urged viewers to expect something pretty dramatic.
In the latest issue of Inside Soap magazine, actors Jackie Woodburne and Alan Fletcher sat down to discuss what it's been like playing married couple Susan and Karl Kennedy for more than two decades when they touched on the upcoming milestone.
"We can't really say too much," Woodburne – who became the longest-running cast member in October 2009 – admitted. "But suffice to say, we're pulling out all the stops for the 35th. We have some huge stories, and we're attempting things that we've never done before."

While making sure to keep her answer vague so as not to give away any spoilers, she did seem to hint that no one is safe on Ramsay Street in the run-up to the soap's celebration.
"The big question is, who will be left standing at the end? You should be excited," she concluded. "It's going to be huge!"

Elsewhere in the interview, the duo were asked what they think it is that fans love about Susan and Karl so much.
"I think we've been able to play that familiarity that couples have after decades together, that sense of giving each other a bit of cheek, of being flawed," Woodburne replied." Karl and Susan have good days and bad days, but underlying all that is the sense that these two people love each other."
Of course, their relationship never really gets a chance to grow stale, as there are always young people coming in and out of the Kennedy house to keep the foster parent pair on their toes and their dynamic fresh.
"We have some beauties at the moment," Fletcher noted. "And a new actor is about to join us in the house, who's a real livewire..."
