Home and Away spoilers follow from Tuesday's 5STAR first look episode (UK-pace).
Home and Away has set up a heartbreaking new situation for Colby Thorne, as he seeks a reunion with his ex-girlfriend Mackenzie Booth.
Colby became increasingly fixated on making things work with Mackenzie in Tuesday's 5STAR first look episode (May 19), unaware that she is already moving on with another guy.
The local cop confided in Mackenzie's brother Dean Thompson about his plans. Although Dean had no objections, he did remind his best friend to leave him out of it.
Sadly for Colby, his confidence seemed severely misplaced as Mackenzie ignored his calls and continued to flirt with Summer Bay newcomer Ari Parata instead.

Dean found himself caught in the middle of the situation for the second time in a day when Mackenzie spoke to him about her feelings for Ari.
Although Dean chose not to reveal their past, he couldn't help feeling uneasy over Mackenzie's interest in his former jailmate.
Taking matters into his own hands, Dean confronted Ari about Mackenzie's feelings for him and was keen to know whether he felt the same way.
Ari insisted there was nothing between him and Mackenzie, promising to set her straight.

Continuing his reluctant meddling, Dean also spoke to Colby and encouraged him not to keep pursuing Mackenzie as she may have moved on from their relationship. As Dean didn't give any direct details about Ari, Colby couldn't be talked round and remained confident that he stood a chance.
At the same time, Mackenzie went to the caravan park to speak to Ari and get to the bottom of their recent flirtatious chemistry.
She told him: "We're not kids. You don't have to play games. Because I have done literally everything I can think of to tell you that I'm into you, so just tell me. Am I wasting my time?"
Mackenzie's direct approach paves the way for her connection with Ari to finally go further – but the big question is how long it'll take for Colby to find out, and how he'll react when he does.
