Willow is still upset over her break-up with Alex. She tries to downplay, but eventually opens up about how wonderful her relationship was. Dean and Colby's unwavering support, although nice, is little consolation for the pain she's going through. When pressed, a confused Willow is unable to say where she stands with her sexuality.

Although Willow protests that she's feeling better, the next day she snaps at Colby during a rehabilitation session. This leads Dean to suggest the two of them head off for a few days to help her clear her head.

Meanwhile, when Colby reaches out to Dean for advice on how to get back with Mackenzie, he is reminded that Dean wants nothing to do with their relationship. Mac, sick of waiting for Colby, has been flirting with one of her new regulars, Ari. However, after Mac enquires about Ari's past, he retreats, worried that she will uncover his criminal history.

When Dean discovers his sister is into his former prison-mate, he tries to push her back towards Colby, but Mac is well and truly over that relationship. Dean confronts Ari about his sister and when pushed by Dean, Ari promises to set her straight.

Later, Dean finds an annoyed Mackenzie waiting for Ari at Salt. Ari hasn't shown up as usual and she's disappointed, assuming this means he's not into her, and Dean is relieved. He goes home to pack for his trip, where he finds Colby about to look for Mackenzie. Dean suggests that she's not into Colby anymore and presses him to move on, but will Colby take his advice?

At the same time, Mackenzie has gone to the caravan park to confront a bemused Ari. She challenges him about his seeming lack of interest, demanding that he tell her why he has been coming in to Salt every day.
