On tonight's (Monday 6 July) episode of Hollyoaks, Rex Gallagher's world collapsed after his husband Ste Hay found out two shocking secrets. Last week, Imran Maalik and Leah Barnes discovered that Rex has been sending himself hateful messages online while claiming he was being trolled.
Tonight, Imran tried to push Leah to tell Ste the truth, but she said she just needed to find the right words.

Later, Ste found Leah looking at design options online after agreeing to redecorate Leela Dexter's place. Ste then mentioned that Leah should interview him for her podcast.
Leah agreed to interview her dad immediately, setting up her camera and micing them both up. After introducing Ste to her audience, Leah jumped in and asked him about Rex's cross-dressing.

A nervous Ste said he felt fine and said he admires Rex's courage. But after asking Leah to turn off the camera, Ste admitted that he wasn't attracted to this side of Rex.
Things soon turned heated between the pair as they both brought up each other's past, including Leah leaving James and Ste sleeping with Dillon.
In the heat of the moment, Leah let slip that Rex had been trolling himself online, causing an angry Ste to walk out on her.

Ste then went to visit Mercedes and told her what Leah had said. During the conversation, Mercedes revealed Rex's other secret, telling Ste that she'd seen on the garage CCTV that Rex wasn't attacked by a gang. Instead, it was just one person.
Rex heard Mercedes's admission, and he tearfully admitted to Ste that he had lied because he wanted Ste to feel more for him again.
Ste later apologised to Leah, saying she was right about Rex and confessing that he's not sure he wants to be with him anymore. The episode ended with Rex alone, crying on the garage floor.
Will Ste be able to forgive Rex, or are they done for good?
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
