Stephanie Waring has revealed exactly when she's making her return to Hollyoaks, and it's very soon. The actor is reprising her role as Cindy Cunningham, after fans campaigned to get the character back following her axing in 2024.

Now, on Instagram, Waring has confirmed that Cindy's eagerly-awaited return will happen during next Wednesday's episode (15 July), writing: "It's been a minute … 15/7/26 will you be watching?"

Abigail will be introduced on the Channel 4 soap as part of Dee-Dee Hutchinson's ongoing storyline, with the newcomer being a drugs counsellor who takes up a job at Hollyoaks High.

Waring recently confirmed to Digital Spy that Cindy and Abigail will have a lot of involvement with each other, saying: "I can tease that I will be back in Cindy's flat and I have a very fabulous, interesting flatmate! The actress in question is Brooke Vincent."

"I'm really excited about that, because Brooke and I did Dancing on Ice together when it got brought back by ITV in 2018. I just love Brooke to bits and we get on really well. Our characters are just worlds apart. We bounce off each other really well," she added.

Waring has also confirmed that Cindy will catch up with some old faces, including Darren Osborne and Tony Hutchinson, but her focus is very firmly going to be on making new connections.

"The way my storyline is going, it's not really focusing on events from a past that people will know about. That's all I can tease for now!" she said. "For me, this feels like it's not going over old ground.

"It feels like a new direction. Of course it would be nice to look at the past – and maybe collect the Cunninghams together again at some point down the road – but for now I'm really enjoying this new lane that Cindy is in..."
