Hollyoaks aired a surprise proposal as Imran Maalik and Leah Barnes returned to the village after they spent a couple of years away, but which happy couple could be progressing further in their relationship?
The pair surprised their family by returning to Cheshire, with Imran last being seen in the village in 2023 before Leah departed a year later. Their respective loved ones, including Misbah and Ste, were shocked upon their return from the US.

In even more surprising news, it was revealed that Imran and Leah were in a relationship, and planned to move into their own place in the village. There was a hitch, however, as tonight's episode began with Imran learning that their home wasn't ready.
To make matters worse, their flashy sports car had been stolen, though they were unaware that Darren and Charlie were behind the theft. Leah, meanwhile, planned to throw her own return party.

Imran eventually found his car, and wanted to celebrate immediately. His family, however, were confused as to how he'd earned his money. Ste was similarly perplexed, mainly as to why his adoptive daughter had fallen for Imran.
As the party got under way, Leah looked at Jenson, but asked Imran to have a word with him. Imran paid Jenson to pretend that he'd urged him to stay away from Leah, but he was soon in his girlfriend's bad books as she realised they'd be staying with Misbah.
Imran attempted to salvage the situation, and surprisingly got on one knee as he proposed to Leah. She looked stunned, and it remains to be seen if she'll accept Imran's hand in marriage.

While we'll have to wait to find out, it has already been confirmed that the pair's return to the village won't go swimmingly, with Charlotte Riley teasing that her character will struggle to adjust to her newfound life.
"Leah is trying to be this new version of herself, but she may step on toes that she shouldn't," said the actor, who takes over the role of Leah from Ela-May Demircan. "There will be a lot of twists and turns ahead."
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
