Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Monday’s episode (28 April), which is available to watch now on streaming service Channel 4 and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
Hollyoaks’ Donny Clark has finally learned the truth about Alistair Banks – but his discovery has put him in serious danger.
The detective has been desperate to find out who has been supplying drugs to Dillon and Frankie and has grown suspicious of his colleague Alistair.
He received an anonymous text urging him to look closer to home – and in today’s episode he realised that the text was sent by Rex, who has begun trying to bring down the illegal operation.
When pushed to talk, Rex advised him to apply serious pressure to Banks, but insisted that it was too dangerous for him to speak on record.

Grace spotted this clandestine chat and confronted her brother, but he lied and made an excuse about why he was talking to Donny.
Meanwhile, with Diane growing closer to Alistair, Donny suggested coming over for lunch for a double date with him and Misbah.
Donny used the opportunity to grill his colleague, but pushed too hard, and Alistair realised that his colleague was onto him. The corrupt copper sent a text which said Donny was a problem who needed to be handled "permanently".

Rex responded to a voicemail from Donny about Alistair, but Grace caught him in the act and got confirmation that her brother had given Donny information.
She was worried about the consequences if DI Banks found out, but she threatened to tell him about Rex’s actions – even if it led to her brother’s death.
Later in a meeting with Grace, Alistair was furious about the number of leaks in the operation, and he confirmed that Donny needed to be taken care of.

It seemed that a plan was already in place, as Donny was sent to investigate an abandoned car with fellow officer PC Guy.
The callout was a set-up, as the officer collected a baseball bat from the front seat then approached Donny ready to attack.
