Hollyoaks' Nana McQueen is set to return to the show this Christmas.

Star Diane Langton hasn't appeared on the soap since 2023, though it has now emerged that she will be back in the fold very soon.

The return was confirmed by co-star James Sutton (John Paul McQueen), who shared a set photo with Diane on Instagram, while a return has also been hinted by Nana appearing in the show's new opening titles.

"BTS with the incredible Di Langton," he wrote. "Privileged to share a screen with this wonderful, warm, funny, generous, hilarious woman."

According to The Sun, Nana will be visiting from Alicante, and will support Mercedes as she battles bowel cancer.

Further details on her storyline remain under wraps, though it is likely she will play a part in the upcoming Theresa McQueen exit story.

The character will be departing temporarily as star Jorgie Porter goes on maternity leave – and Jorgie previously hinted that some familiar faces may be coming back.

"I can’t say too much but my exit is very family-based – a few McQueens come back – which is always very exciting," she told The Sun.

"We’re filming Christmas at the moment – waddling around the village in heels and hiding the bump is hard. It’s quite funny how much you rely on your costumes, me with a big old belly kicking around."

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
