Hollyoaks has released a dramatic new autumn trailer and has also confirmed when the show will air after the schedule change.

The soap is currently gearing up for a big stunt week in September, which will bring to a climax its major storylines before a 12-month time jump takes place.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Hollyoaks would be reducing its weekly output, going down from five to three weekly episodes at a slightly shorter length.

It's now been confirmed that from Monday, September 9, the soap will air from Monday to Wednesday, with each episode dropping on Channel 4 streaming each morning at 7am before airing on E4 that evening at 7pm.

This major schedule change will start with an epic stunt week which will see a much-anticipated clash between Warren and Dave, aka Blue.

The new Hollyoaks trailer teases what fans can expect in the run-up to this thrilling week of episodes.

The clip shows Mercedes recruiting an unlikely group – including Grace, Freddie and Donny – to help Warren break out of prison, where he's currently being held after he was framed for his mum Norma's murder.

But Blue continues to inflict pain on the village and Misbah will be held hostage, while a hidden bomb is ready to cause havoc.

Warren will finally find out that Dave is Blue. But as the two men face off in the woods, how will this be resolved?

Meanwhile, Cleo decides to escape her abusive boyfriend Abe and she turns to her family for help – but Abe continues to manipulate those around her.

Elsewhere, Frankie struggles to move forward after telling Darren about JJ's abuse, but the truth will soon be exposed to the village with JJ getting arrested for his crimes.

Also coming up, Ste finds out that James has slept with Jeremy and is devastated, but things will get much worse when his husband suddenly collapses.

Plus, Ethan and Vicky's romance continues to hot up, but there's a spanner in the works as Ethan tells ex Sienna he is still in love with her.

All of these stories and more will come to a head when a devastating incident sends shockwaves through the village.

The trailer also contains a mysterious audio clip that teases what will happen after the soap's time jump, which takes place from Monday, September 16.

Tony can be heard making a speech, where he announces two surprises for the village to celebrate before handing over to another character.

What will be revealed in a year's time?

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
