Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Monday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Tuesday.
Ant Hutchinson and Arlo Fielding play a cruel trick on Ro as the teenager’s transition storyline continues on Hollyoaks.
Ro has explored his gender identity in recent months, though the developments have put a strain on the family as Diane has struggled to come to terms with her son’s decision to transition.
Ant, along with father Tony, has backed Ro throughout his journey even when his friend Arlo has targeted Ro with abuse, but tonight’s (July 22) first-look episode saw Ant succumb to peer pressure.

The episode began with Diane and Tony butting heads amid his wife’s growing alcohol dependency, with her emotions spiralling as she lashed out. The pair later had a heartfelt conversation, with Diane admitting she felt “persecuted” amid unwanted advice from other people.

Arlo and Ant, meanwhile, were walking around the village as they prepared to play the latest game, with Ant chastising his friend for misgendering Ro. Arlo, however, continued to be ignorant, saying that he needs to get a “sense of humour.”
He also planted a seed in Ant's head that Ro was being given all the attention by his parents, with the teenager expressing his discontent that Ro had been gifted a basketball while he was waiting for a video game.

His jealousy got the better of him as he spotted that Ro had taken an interest in an online forum, with his fears resulting in him telling Arlo about the website.
As Ro thought he had found a new friend, it was revealed that Arlo and Ant had set up a fake account to talk to him; will their cruel trick be exposed before they cause harm?...
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
