Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Thursday.

Hollyoaks' Peri Lomax has been caught out over his plan to help Romeo Nightingale out in prison.

Romeo is currently doing time after he confessed that he accidentally killed former girlfriend Rayne Royce. He was recently made to share a cell with Kane, a drug dealer that his father James had falsely pinned Ella Richardson's death on.

As Romeo learned, Kane is well aware of the situation, and has started issuing death threats.

In tonight's (February 21) newest episode, James spoke to Romeo on the phone, who asked him to smuggle in a burner phone for Kane.

James refused the request, stating that he knows Kane's type and it would start off with a phone and then increase to drugs, weapons — or worse.

Kane then jumped on the call and reiterated his threats, and although James tried to call the dealer's bluff by issuing his own threats about Kane's daughter, he was clearly worried. Which Peri overheard.

After speaking to James, Peri came up with a plan to sneak a burner phone into the prison by hiding it on her daughter Steph.

She managed to get the phone in, but when she handed it to Romeo, it started to ring, and she was taken away for questioning.

Elsewhere in the episode, Charlie Dean returned from London and promised to clear Jack Osborne's name, while Dilly Harcourt seemingly left the village, but secretly made a return.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
