Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Thursday's streaming episode, which will air on E4 on Friday.

Hollyoaks has aired yet another twist in the ever-unfolding Rayne Royce death storyline, as another thing that happened on that fateful night has been revealed.

Recently, Prince McQueen changed his plea to not guilty after an anonymous note stated that the real killer is still out there, which DS Zoe Anderson has sent to forensics to find out who sent it.

In tonight's (December 14) episode, Hunter made a confession to his brother: he stole Rayne's phone on the night of her death, as he hoped to find something to protect Prince on it. He's still got it, but can't get beyond the lock screen.

After showing Romeo Nightingale the note, Hunter came across Zoe, who he was dating before all the Rayne drama caused them to break up. She said that she wanted to repair the trust between them, which led to him admitting that he had Rayne's phone.

Zoe insisted on taking it to the police, as she can't risk her job, but Hunter convinced her otherwise, stating: "I've got to unlock the phone. There must be something on there that proves he didn't do it... Talk to your friend [in tech support] and see if he can crack it. You want to get my trust back, no?"

Later on, Peri Lomax heard a familiar text tone coming from Hunter's pocket, and started questioning him about it. Not longer after, he went to Zoe's who had been in touch with her tech friend, but when he when to pull the phone out, it was gone.

Sure enough, viewers saw Peri on Rayne's phone, and she unlocked it. She discovered a video of Rayne alive after her altercation with Prince, and called up James...

"James, I need your help. Prince didn't kill Rayne and I've got proof. What are we going to do?" she said in a panic.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
