Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday's streaming episode, which will air on E4 the next day.

Hollyoaks' Prince McQueen has made a major decision in tonight's (December 13) episode after an anonymous note teased that the truth about Rayne Royce's death is yet to be revealed, and "the real killer is still out there".

Prince started off the episode planning to pleading guilty for Rayne's death following his confession about what happened between them on that fateful day, but the discovery of the note changed everything.

Although they don't know who left the note underneath the Christmas tree, Hunter and Goldie went to James Nightingale for advice. But when he recommended that they continue to have Prince plead guilty, they fired him as their lawyer (which left James looking incredibly shifty).

Elsewhere, DS Zoe Anderson spoke about the situation with Maxine Minniver and admitted that she wasn't sure Prince is the one who did it. When she then heard about the note from the mysterious x, she immediately ordered it to be taken to forensics to see who sent it.

Nana went to Prince to try to get him to change his mind, telling him: "I have to make you see sense.

"Did you argue? Yes. Did it get out of control? Yes. Did you act in a terrible, monstrous way? Absolutely. But did you kill thar girl? No."

"Somebody knows something that could exonerate you," she said while sliding him the note and explaining the forensic testing which could become evidence in court. "For that to happen, you have got to plead not guilty..."

Prince wasn't so sure, as he upsettingly stated: "I'm a Black man who assaulted a woman, a white woman who accused me of sexual assault. If I go in there now saying I'm innocent, my life in [prison] won't be worth living."

"There's an answer to that," a tearful Nana replied. "You don't stay in here. You get out. You can and you will. You are my lovely, beautiful grandson, and I cannot see you take the blame for this. So please, please change your plea. I am beginning you."

Back with Prince, a delighted Nana called up and Hunter and gladly revealed that Prince had agreed to change his plea to innocent.

Will Prince be able to convince the court he isn't guilty, and are we closing in on the truth finally being solved?
