What to Read Next

Hollyoaks now premieres its episodes on Channel 4's streaming service All 4 every morning ahead of transmission on TV, so this will be fans' first chance to see the special edition from the morning of Tuesday, January 10.

Further details about the episode will be released nearer the time of broadcast, but viewers already know that local villain Eric Foster is making some sinister plans. Could this be the moment that his storyline finally comes to a head?

Hollyoaks' executive producer Lucy Allan previously commented: "Eric's story, exploring the topic of misogyny, will carry on across the show through 2022 as it continues to build and escalate.

"We will see Mason drawn into the influence and danger of that dark world as well. You can expect to see the big fallout of that story pitching in hard at the start of 2023."

The latest schedule update follows in the tradition of occasional hour-long Hollyoaks specials in January.

In 2020, there was an hour-long return for Hollyoaks Later as Breda McQueen's serial killer storyline came to a head.

2022 started with a bang in the village when a 60-minute special featured the tragic explosion at Marnie Nightingale's patisserie.

Further hour-long specials have aired this year for Luke Morgan's exit scenes and the dramatic carnival stunt.

In the meantime, Hollyoaks fans should watch out for scheduling changes over the Christmas and New Year period, with episodes airing outside of their regular timeslots and some days featuring no episodes at all.

Fortunately, the annual festive box set will be going live on Monday (December 19), allowing viewers to watch all of the Christmas episodes ahead of their broadcast on TV.

Hollyoaks streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
