Hollyoaks star Nadine Mulkerrin has revealed that there's "quite a big fallout" ahead for Cleo McQueen and her boyfriend Mitchell Deveraux next week.
Cleo struggles when Mitchell (Imran Adams) finds out details of her past that she hadn't previously shared with him, including her traumatic history with paedophile Pete Buchanan.
Scott Drinkwell (Ross Adams) is responsible for sharing the details with Mitchell, leaving Cleo uncomfortable that they've been talking about her.
Speaking about the trouble ahead, Nadine explained: "They have quite a big fall-out this week, because Scott reveals to Mitchell about her history and mentions her abuse from Pete.

"I think that was something she would probably want to tell Mitchell herself. It's still something she feels a bit ashamed about and it's a big deal that he's found out.

"I think she's sometimes quick to be on the defence and she gives it the whole 'You don't know me', as like a self-protection thing.
"She tells herself that she doesn't need a man, she doesn't need Mitchell and she pushes him away as a form of self-protection."
Cleo's troubles coincide with her first week of university, which sees her befriend Peri Lomax (Ruby O'Donnell) as they're on the same nursing course.

Although things start off well, Cleo finds it difficult to fit in with the Freshers activities when she's told to pour baked beans over her head during a "food forfeit quiz" at The Hutch.
Peri steps in to take on the challenge instead, but Cleo is reminded of her past issues with food and rushes out.
On Cleo re-enrolling at uni, Nadine continued: "She is slightly anxious and apprehensive, because of last time when she flunked university. She's feeling excited as well and she just wants to make a good impression. It's like a new lease of life for her, as she doesn't want to be working in The Dog anymore.
"Last time she went to university, she was dealing with a lot of inner demons. I think she was overwhelmed, and her and Joel were a bit up and down. She wasn't focused on her work and she wasn't in the right headspace, so it didn't go well. She failed a few of her courses and in the end dropped out.

"She's chosen to do nursing, and I think it's probably connected to her big sister who passed away, Celine, and she's quite caring. Obviously Mitchell's a doctor, so she gets to work with her boyfriend too."
Discussing the bean challenge at The Hutch, Nadine added: "Peri is getting involved and is being really confident, but Cleo feels a bit overwhelmed with everyone being there.
"She becomes the centre of attention when she gets a question wrong at the quiz, making her feel a bit inadequate and insecure.
"Also there's this food connection as well with the beans which I think is a bit of a trigger for her bulimia. She’s generally feeling a little bit insecure and down about herself."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
