Mercedes McQueen has been caught out over her affair in Hollyoaks, following yet another close call with Breda.
All signs pointed to Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) being next on serial killer Breda's (Moya Brady) hit list when Breda overheard Mercy discussing her affair with Liam Donovan (Jude Monk McGowan).
Thursday's (August 15) first-look episode on E4 took place on the day of Breda and Jack Osborne's (Jimmy McKenna) secret wedding, but Breda was far more concerned with what to do about Mercedes.
She visited Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) to confess her anger at someone in her life having betrayed her trust time and again.
"There's one very close to home," she seethed. "A thorn in my side that I just can't seem to pluck out!"
Joel started to get nervous, assuming Breda had rumbled his fling with Goldie (Chelsee Healey). The priest tried to calm Breda by telling her good people do bad things and asking if there was any way she could forget about the betrayal.

Breda concocted a plan to lure Mercedes into her van under the guise of helping her with something for Sylver (David Tag), only to spring the affair allegation on her when she was cornered.
In a panic, Mercedes betrayed another family member by telling Breda that she'd actually been talking about Goldie's affair with Joel — which was a complete lie.
At the same time, Joel visited Goldie to promise he wasn't going to let his religious vows stand in his way of being happy any longer. Soon, the two were tumbling into bed together.
Breda was busy looking for any signs that Mercedes was telling the truth, eventually stumbling in to find Joel and Goldie under the covers!
Raging Breda stormed off to The Dog where she angrily told Jack that their wedding was off, then pushed him to the floor when he tried comforting her.
Breda frantically rushed off, while Jack begged Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) to try reasoning with her. Viewers will remember that Darren already rubbed Breda up the wrong way this summer.
When Darren questioned Breda on if she even had feelings for Jack after the way she'd treated him, all she could do was clutch her rosary beads. What is Breda's next move?
Mercedes may have thought she was in clear after lying to Breda, but by the end of the episode, someone else found out about her secret.
As Mercy reunited with Liam for an illicit kiss, Liam suddenly realised that little Bobby (Jayden Fox) was watching their every move. The impact of what he's seen will have bigger ramifications next week…
